DIFFERENT STYLES OF WORK

Recommended Posts

Took my dogs out for a mooch yesterday, got them working a field of oilseed rape, and got to admit watching their different styles is fascinating. My whippet cross tears through cover head down watching the rape part looks like the velociraptor scene in jurrasic park no sign of the dog just the movement of the rape as she crashes through. My lurcher on the other hand runs around like a demented springbok, fortunately their different styles complement each other as they catch plenty at this sort of game. Anybody agree that summertime work brings out the best in your dogs from the point of view that your dogs have to use all their senses, scenting, hearing etc, rather than just relying on vision.
