Hannah4181 260
Out running a few bunnies with the lurcher on thursday night i stumbled across 6 pairs of baby eyes! I stayed and watched them charging around like idiots for over an hour and decided with the earth being no more than 50 yrds from my front door it would be a crime not to try and photograph them. So this morning i set off at 4.30, armed with minced tripe and my camera. I laid some tripe a couple of feet from the entrance to the earth then sat and watched about 10 yrd away. 2 cubs were out within minutes, scoffing the tripe and totally un fazed by my presence. The boldest of the 2 then caught sight of me and had a little sniff before returning to the safety of the earth, with his brother in toe. I waiting for about an hour as little noses poked out the earth, sniffed, then retreated. Seemingly the horrendous smell of tripe was too much for them to resist, all 6 came out and hid in the nettles, this little guy came and ate for 2/3 minutes whilst i photographed him. Nightmare with light, meaning i needed to shoot on a 640 ISO . . . luckily the D700 excels at low level light and although after a closer crop the images are not as sharp as i'd like . . . Given the conditions and the fact it was my first visit, i'm pleased with the result. I plan to go back morning and night each day in the hope of improving the pictures, will keep you updated.

Yes, dressed in pj's, wellies and smelling of tripe is not a great look!
