dogs in pubs

Recommended Posts

My local is sometimes like crufts with the amount of dogs in there . I think that is part of the life of a country pub but there are less and less of both about now. Just got back from one pub that has just reopened down the road from me now it's more like a restaurant

its sometimes nice to call in a pub if your out for the day & have a friendly dog to fuss over .. breaks the ice a bit especially if its a pub full of locals   they tend to stare at you & usually make you feel uncomfortable

A old pub in this area still standing. It use to be called the royal oak.about 30 years ago all the old dog men would come in for a pint after a days hunting. You couldent move for lurchers and terriers. But they were all well behaved dogs.Would just lye at the feet of the owner. But after afew jars the ferrits would be down the pool tablelaugh.gif .All good fun.Now were just a nanny state.Fun should be removed from the English dictionarythumbs.gif

The Wheatsheaf at Dry Doddington, maybe a little way off for you. Get alot of country sorts in there, mostly shooters etc mind you, but a very decent pub all the same.

Depends if the dogs are pub trained. My terriers always have a quick zoom round the gaff, say hello, then sit under my chair/bench and mind their own business. Dogs that want a fuss all the time don't belong in pubs.

A man walks into a pub and in the corner are three men and a dog playing poker.

The guy says, "f*****g hell, he must be a clever dog!"

The barman replies, "No, every time he gets a good hand, he wags his tail."
