A very small clip from Spring Rifle Vermin Control

Recommended Posts

Hi lads,

Just thought that I would put up this very small video clip from a magpie that got well within my kill zone shooting capability :whistling: .

It obviously didn’t think it was in any danger as it sat there nicely while I lased it and then lined up 3 mil dots hold over and ½ a mil dots right hand side to comp for the breeze  .

The Hawke Nite Eye SR12 reticule and the Air Arms Pro Sport really did their job again claiming a very humane and clean kill.

At least the song birds can sleep assured tonight knowing the black and white chick robber is having a very long sleep :victory:

Enjoy lads

Here is teh link to the footage

Cheers for all the nice comments lads

No problems Shay you are the first one on my new order list pal :toast:

Yes Farmer, cheers buddy. I went for the heart shot on this one and the 16 grain FX struck perfectly. I think the maggie was dead before it left its branch.

Not a problem Jenks, I intend on adding some scope camera footage again on the new DVD, just haven’t practiced enough yet with the scope camera and springer really to be fair to the vermin mate.

The recoilless shots were hard enough so i think i need to practice some more with the springer to establish how im going to absorb the recoil and be accurate enough to acquire humane kills every time.

Shooting with a scope camera is a whole new kettle of fish mate as your head is way back and your not putting your cheek on the rifle cheek piece.

Its like learning to shoot all over again and you need to acquire your own technique to get it perfect.

Regarding the Nite Eye SR12 scope and reticule though buddy, its by far the best reticule that i have ever used.

Blackpool Air Rifles have just got it on their Hawke Airmax scopes now buddy which is around £30 cheaper than the Nite Eye.

I’ve already ordered mine for the HW97KT along with 1000 FX 16 grains :whistling:

Hi Bill, yes mate i was taking my time as the wind kept doing different things and i needed to be accurate with my right hand side mil dot estimation as i was going for a organ that i couldn’t see on the bird.

The wait paid off though buddy

Here is a diagram of where I aimed. Just click on the photo to make it bigger.
