Strange things youve lamped

I accidentally lamped a brick which looked like a squatter from a good distance, the dog flew up the beam and did his usual strike and knocked the brick about 20 ft across the field. Luckily his teeth were ok.

My usual one is tin cans or bottles in clumps of grass.Ive lamped my share of bricks aswell.No idea were the fish came from.

many of times as a lad ive lamped squaters only to find out its a little owl or a wood cock dont see many these days around here though.

Its not quite the same but since you mentioed owls, I once sat in a field at night making sqeaking noises.

(to attract rabbits obviously) When somthing caught my attention above me, I looked up to see a dirty great

owl flutering just over my head like a giant moth! Could it have fallen for the sqeaking or was it coincidence?

not coincedence mate.ive had tawnys come to the squeak many times.great to see.

Strangest thing I've lamped is a barn owl. I caught it on the lamp as it was flying so kept the lamp on it, It swooped down on something and then flew off again.
