My young lurher has damaged the end of her tail, which is not much of a problem in its self.

but now she will not leave it alone and has made it red raw.

This is a common enough problem so I understand, anyone had any success in stoping a dog

from chewing its tail?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Cheers

Well this is not the busy end of the forum is it!

Guess I will try and answer my own question. Yesterday I bought the largest

rawhide chew I could find. Shes allowed the chew every time she is unsupervised or

unocupied and so far its taken her mind off the tail thing.

Chew cost about 5 quid! but never mind.

Thanks for the tips. As you suggest I will have to stop her from phyisically getting at the tail. Interest in the chew

quickly disapeared and its now back to square one.

Cheers

i used a old bike tyre inner tube cut it down and dressed wound then

put inner tube on lab left it alone
