well, going back to the origonal topic: i find it hard to beleive that anyone can say for certain just how a terrier will work until it is tried....even bred from the hardest to the hardest you will still get some bayers....just like you will get some spewers...

for instance: i know of 2 good dogs bred together, they were both what many would call hard with a fox and had killed a great many...therse two dog were, in turn, bred from the loins of some very good digging stuff, their sires had dug over 300 and 200 respectivly....so, this breeding takes place and 7 bitches are born...one is very hard, one is a bayer, one mixes and one spewed ...the others i have no idea to....and as for the quality of the dogs used i know the owners had some very long, very deep dogs with them......just a thougth...all the best....JD

darcy you are bound to stick up for potter as he was blowing smoke up your arse not so long ago on the other thread about books or some shit .... the reason you boys dont like out and out hard dogs is cos you f*****g got any .... now what dogs you have may suite your style of hunting and i applaud that (after all who am i to critisise) but i can guarantee you one thing if you fellas fetched them stay back and bay dogs down here you will drop hole after hole after hole and get nowhere ...you need dogs like the punisher and dealer to get the job done with game that has been dug and has no respect for a dog the bayers will get f****d over every time .... now i am not slagging potter off or trying to make him look stupid he is doing a good job of that all by himself .............

JDarcy,I know the line of terriers I know how they work.The last mating was probably a bit tight resulting in the bitch not making it up to size.If I thought she would be an out and out bayer I might give her the benefit of the doubt but she wont be.Taffys bitch has the same sire as mine,I think he wishes his would bay a little bit more.

its how things seem 2 be now,lines of terriers are founded on animals because they have an violent style of work,lacking in sense,when breay and buck are quoted did they really see "hard" in the same context as u all seem 2? i think its grand that u dont want 2 see the little bitch knocked about and look forward 2 the day u show the same respect 2 all ur terriers.

show me where I've ever posted i believe another terrierman disrespected his dogs because i don't agree with the style the terrier worked, seems you hold the moral high ground with your bayer, , nasty b*****d letting there little dogs get bitten :11: who else you saying this to ??? and as far as the the harder terrier not being able to work deeper or longer digs , just points out you never seen a good hard one ...

you may not like pictures of dogs that have worked long and hard , but I'm not ashamed of them, ....would at least it be nice to see a picture of your stay for ever never get bitten wonder dogs
