Kane 2
This bitch has thrown small ,1st time this line was bred so tight and the last,I personaly dont relish the idea of a to small David V Goliath competition below ground with working terriers its to small David that gets smashed by goliath. JDarcy true some litter mates will not be as game as others but like I said I know my dogs and this bitch will be to hard,How do I know?Experiance not as much as most but more than some. Personaly I find it quite amusing when people jump to the conclusion the hard dogs cant stay, just because their hard(contarary to popular belief) doesnt mean there thick. Not all quarry will sit there and be bayed at some will even take the fight to the terrier, what do you do then with your little yappers?F**K off home and do some ferreting .I prefer the word game to hard and a game terrier will stay till dug to wether hes having his own way or not. She is IMHO(its my decision )to small. Quote Link to post
Kane 2
Here she is pictured with my terrier dog,he is strong but (so far)has never had a problem getting to his fox.Taking little punishment yet finishing most foxes in quick time IMHO kind on the dog kind on the quarry. No good if you wish to wave your hat and shout tally-ho :11: Quote Link to post
Stabs 3
If that's the dog you had with you yesterday, then that bitch really must be small Quote Link to post
Kane 2
Thats the one Stabs, one things for sure small or not letting her go isnt easy,if I hadnt found exactly the right home for her she would be going no where. Quote Link to post
Royston2 0
Bloody hell she is real small Kane. Thats a real shame. In the other pic of her she just dosent look that small but in that one shes a proper mighty mouse. Cheers TP <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Tuftpaul no mouse in her breeding as far as i know i was under the impresion it was gerbil from way back maybe this is the cause to throw so small :search: :11: Quote Link to post
Guest potter
guys, dont be too hard on Potter now...things on this internet dont always come out as we intend them to....we all know that.....we each have an opinion..and that is a good thing...lets keep the critisisms constructive...cheers...JD <{POST_SNAPBACK}> can they be 2 hard?i think things ive said have been taken out of context an misrepresented abit. i DO NOT reject the sensible "hard" terrier and never have. i recognize that any game terrier at work will get bitten at times and would not kennel or breed from a dog or bitch that cannot hold up at any cost. kane i apologize 4 the comment did not mean it as it read. socks i havnt mentioned how long ive had terriers and pickaxe i used ur quotes because i struggle with computers a bit an urs was the 1 i was reading an as 4 pics of my dogs uve handled them i think. i am not an anti and like looking at other peoples terriers 2 but some of the pics posted IMHO (it makes it better if i do that) could be used against terrier work. my opinions are my own obviously and seemingly in the minority. opinionated i am,condescending i dont mean 2 be. PBurns 9
>> This isnt a case of size or hardness but more a bit of both. Too small to be hard << Kane's note about his own dog (above) is well said. Very small and very hard is trouble without a doubt. Sounds like this dog is very, very small! A friend had a pup that never cleared 8 inches -- a freak of a dog and unique in the litter. Went to a pet home for the same reason Kane has voiced. As to the tone of this thread in general, I have to say it reminds me of the study on civility on the internet which noted that that "only 38% of flames contained verifiable information, while over 61% of non-flames provided information" and that "incivility may be used to mask a lack of factual knowledge." I have to say that some of the people on these forums are so full of vitriol, bad manners, and divisiveness that I wonder if they are plants from PETA. Again, of course, the most likely explanation is youth (or immaturity which seems to know no age) . Patrick Quote Link to post

Kye 77
I wonder who knows more about terriers?..Lads whos familys have been digging for generations...OR...an american who has been digging three or four years, and has most of his knowledge from Books? As far as size goes...i think it depends on the breed/type as well....you could have two dogs, both 11" and both 13lbs...Ones a Russell type, the other a Balck dog type.. It seems with dogs like that, the Russell, is well aware that he is small, and after he gets through his youthful enthusiasm, and has his ass kicked a few times, will settle down and stand back and bay. But the black dog, he DONT know that he is small, coz he has just been looking at them weird freaky mirrors at the fair ground that make you look three times your size!..lol..They USUALY stay hardish, or end up not coming out again! Kye.. PS...i would just like to say that not all the lads over here are as twatish as PB!..lol..there are some very good dog men over here. Quote Link to post

Guest CharlieC
surely the very best kind of terrier is the one that bays (out the corner of its mouth) while it finishes the fox off and then stays with it until dug to? or comes out when called carrying the fox? Im sure I read about a few dogs like that in a book years ago I think the guy who owned them was called Brian something or other :11: :11: I think if you know in your heart of hearts that a dog aint right for you, whether its lurcher or terrier, then you just know, and your best getting it off to a good home where it will be appreciated, cos if you dont click 100% with your four legged hunting pals then the experience is going to be one frought with tension Quote Link to post
Guest vim
Well the wanna be`s have had there say so i suppose another messer like myself wont hurt voicing his opinion`s now will it Only i find it quite funny how certain guys pick the lingo up and talk the talk when they have only been in terrier`s five fecking minute`s with borrowed dogs that belong to either mate`s or there partner`s,lmao.. But realy Cooper have you splashed some Strawberry soda on that fecking white dog or what because it looks like that to me Now think before you reply as im a fellow American just like the other fecking dreamer`s that fly the flag :11: I sure there some real deal digging guys on here that have succesfully worked a varitey of type`s and size`z of different dogs.
