brenner 773
dont have any expierience with real earth working dogs as yez can tel, so have another question for yez. more out of courisoty than need to know.. the young pat bitch doesnt seem to play like most other pups ive seen. it seems like she is always harrasing my older dog, snarling, barking in his face ,nipping , and biting and holding on to his cheeks especially, if you didnt know her you might not be blamed for thinkin she was actually getting stuck in to the dog. im courious to know if this is instinctive behaviour. playing as if working an earth or am i just looking to much into it? Id say you have a good one, used to live in dublin myself until 2 years back -serious amount of game up there(more than down the sticks lol).out blanch direction by the canal(mind the trains) is a very good spot, wankers of farmers though, back of maynooth college is a decent spot to start a young dog(again trigger happy farm manager) thanks pal, i hope she does turn out to be a good 1. The Wonderer 0
My pat is almost 7 and his always been dog agressive,BUT his fine with some dogs,i dont let him go near other dogs much any more because im not sure if he's going to attack it or sniff it haha. When i took him out once (just for some exercise)i had him off lead and he see a dog that i diddnt,he was actually just playing with it and never bit it or tryed. But ive opened the front door before and his bolted out at 2 staffs and started attacking them (did well ).He is a good worker and has a brilliant nose,f****r to walk because he just pulls to the smell. We have a jack russell and his fine with her, shes very docile and has never snapped or bit anything even when shes been snapped at.I personally think he's just weary (especially of black people ) Try to be more firm with her/he (forgotten now lol) ATB Quote Link to post

Yeah, that's a fun game. My JRT does this to my youngest dog, think it's definately a dominance thing as she wouldn't dare do it to the older bitch. He doesn't seem to mind. Quote Link to post

Ratter 0
interesting read mate, ive got a lakie X, when he was abit younger he was like this, he'd try and dominate dogs 2-3x bigger than him in the park, he ruled my birds russell, used to grab the russells face and bowl him over, the russell wont go anywhere near him when his tea's down because he knows lol! i have to close the door because my dog will scran down, and then go and take the russells food off him, he got into a scrap with a big bull type while i was out, came of worse, i thought he'd be a complete b*****d with other dogs but it seemed to have sorted him out, he will still try it on, but he knows no to push it, he still lords it over my other dog, but instead of wanting to fight, he wants to play with every dog he sees now Edited May 15, 2010 by Ratter Quote Link to post

He is brilliant in the house though, will sit roll over open doors by himself etc.He just gets extremely excited on a walk. Quote Link to post
