Is a beagle working on its own quick enough to catch rabbits?

Does anyone use a single beagle for general rabbiting? Working cover, hedgerows, out in the open and ferreting? Are they quick enough to catch rabbits regularly?

surely they'd catch a few in the open if they had a clear run at them when ferreting wouldn't they? Do they catch regularly in cover then?

theyll catch regulary in cover,but a healthy rabbit in the open will show a beagle up

no. if you want a dog to work cover and catch rabbits on open land your better looking at the beddy whippet xs bud
