I'm not criticising our American cousin's and their use of the bow and crossbow that's their right and their legislation allow's and more power to them

Many american hunters are proficient with a bow and do get clean kill's :notworthy: I was only pointing out that for some in the UK its not recognised as sporting and the use of a bow is illegal in taking quarry :whistling:

Mr Rhodes, who runs Aakschipper Gallery, said he believes the dart is a bolt from a crossbow – and he was concerned the attacks could result in an increase of violence in the town.

‘My main worry is that there is someone walking the streets of Scarborough with a crossbow and shooting at birds,’ he said.

‘If they are shooting at gulls in the sky and miss, the bolts have to go somewhere and could take someone's eye out.

I cant beleive people are actually critisising the legitimate use of bows for hunting... I personally would be honoured to be able to stalk a roe or red in a mature british woodland with the knowledge and ability to make a fatal shot. I can think a few more natural, back to basics ways of putting meat in the freezer.

The air rifle used incorrectly is just as inhumane, the amount of people that take rediculous 'pot shots' is a joke. Maybe we should ban the use of air rifles to.

the bolt is from one of the cheap pistol style cross bows.look at the diameter of the shaft.look at the lenght of the bolt without the moulded plastic fletchings on.because they have dropped off the back of the shaft.

basically i dont agree with the moron who&why they shot it.But if it was legal here in the uk to hunt with the bow then i would be doing it no problems.from pigeon to deer.food or pest control.longbow, recurve and compound crossbow.if you dont like it tuff shit.plenty of idiots out with shot guns.noisy feckers.
