rory 58
hello, i had a rook last year(rick) what i did was get a big syringe and fill that with a mix of crushed dog food and egg with a bit of water. its the cleanest and easiest way to go about it i found. He didn't hang round for long though, about a month after he could fly properly id say. the poop everywere was my bigest problem! anyway, good luck and put a picture up! Lab 10,979
I'd wring its neck and be done with it! Fair play to you that you want to help the little fecker out but whats the point, even if you manage to get it up to flight stage whats to say somebody wont shoot it? Alot of mucking around for nothing.

I'm hoping it will help my kids learn that my way of life isn't just about killing something just because it's legal to do so. They understand it already, but it's an opportunity for me to try to reinforce it, sort of practice what I preach.
FightTheBan 1,147
Malt, you ever fancied a career in RSPCA or becoming a wildlife crime officer? Just kiddin mate, think its cool if you manage to rear it, and even cooler if your wee ones can help in the process. To think I spend hours shooting the feckers when there hammering crops and your starting a breeding programme All the best! FTB
TIMMAY 6
If you want some insects for it pronto, silent world aquarium in tenby should have some, or theres a shop in narbeth, i think it's called scales and tails. Mealworms/morio worms, are cheap, and probably a good staple, waxworms are pricier, but have a higher fat content, and will add a bit of variety!
Rugersrob 38
well i remember when i was a kid i got told if you get a penny and rub it on there tongue and split it,it will talk better than a parrot! is this true or is some fecker laughing at me... ignore the fuckers i have tadpoles in sweet jars from frog spawn till they have legs my niecès love it and i hope my little one will learn to love it and respect nature to, but hunt it when needed..
