whippets are good for pets and abit rabbiting on nice land and for showing ,but cmon there not the type of dog you would favour to go out alot with guys be real there pets and an odd bit of rabbiting , some are ven poor at rabbiting lol

I never suggested you ditch your lurchers - but i started a thread on here entitled something like 'Hardcore whippets' after your last anti-whippet moan. It had pics of whippets taking fox, deer, wallabies, hare and rabbit, and i noticed you never once commented, but here is a guy whos asking about them and BANG - your all over them, slagging them off. They are maybe not the best at certain jobs but they can do them perfectly well and will stand hard nights in the driving icy rain and as much game as you can throw at them, it all depends on the strain. Maybe the people you know just owned sh*t whippets, but i'm sure you will tell us you've seen the best, just like everything else.

 

How much experience DO you actually have of working them?

agree jai these little dogs dont get the credit they deserve i have seen some good whippets and not so good same as all other running dogs but brought on in the right hands make great companions in and out the field they good for fur and feather and will take pre ban. but aslong your happy with your dog then thats all that matters all the best rich ,.
