stealthy1 3,964
Dont use gloves, they settle down faster if you get the scent from your hands on them, even after you put him back in the cage he will still be able to smell your scent on him, so next time you pick him up he will be more docile Quote Link to post

Born Hunter 17,763
can ferrets survive in the wild? i dont mean polecats. My albino hob was found wild last september time, now hes a very capable ferret and he was skin and bones when i found him. So i would say, yes some ferrets can survive but i would imagine the majority cant. Remember although the domestic ferret looks the same as a wild polecat, they are actually very different animals. I had this once with a rescue jill, not been handled since it was a kit, and had its food poked through the mesh, Its a challenge eh! Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
can ferrets survive in the wild? i dont mean polecats. If there's plenty of food they will survive, we see them dead at the side of the road regular, knocked over by cars, big muscled hobs mainly Quote Link to post

Ideation 8,216
Some can survive and prosper - i was talking to a member on here who has to trap quite a lot of feral ferrets, many that were born wild and has found a lot of them living in rabbit burrows and taking rabbits as they need. Up on the dales i think. atb Jai. Quote Link to post
