East coast 2
Nice heads. Got 2 heads measured this year and good heads but just na the weight, guy that measured said seems to be a problem this year just not the weight, said frost may have had part to play. Also lot of damaged heads this year. Quote Link to post
novice 25
We saw another small freak 5 point buck this morning, feeding 40 meters away from us. We left it for another year. I've just spent the last 3 hours cleaning the heads from yesterday. The middle buck should just go bronze and the far right a silver, the freak between them is heavy enough for bronze but it wouldn't make the points. A good days stalking for 2 clients! We were out this morning and saw 2 big medal class bucks but were unable to get a shot in the cover. Cheers, Mark. You really have done a cracking job on cleaning up those heads in such a short space of time, but I'm sure you get plenty of practice! Not sure you have been asked before, but any tips as to how you speed the process up? Always seems to take me ages. Cheers Novice Quote Link to post

East coast 2
1st - I didn't shoot them, clients, 2nd - My father took them to Lad that measures them, very very experienced in this as been doing it for long time, and knows what he is talking about. He said that the frost had affected the heads this year. Heads you would expect to be medal head's aren't because the weight is just not there. Edited June 16, 2010 by East coast Quote Link to post
mj robson 8
Novice, I just skin then boil the heads in my Burco for 20-30 minutes (straight into plain boiling water). I then clamp them by the antlers in a mobile workbench and power wash them off. From the field to clean in less than an hour. East Coast, I was talking last week to Alan Alison and he was saying the very same thing to me. A lot of the trophies this year look big but there's no weight to them. I can't say I've noticed it myself but I've only held 20 odd medal class trophies this year from my area, these guys see a lot more from all over the country. Cheers, Mark. Quote Link to post
