RiffRaff 5
well bet the title got you thinking,, well a mate of mine who is very handy working with steel decided to make a knife from one of the oldest battered manky looking files i have ever seen,, cos he was sick of the price of a decent knife,an atleast dick turpin used a gun when robbing you  any ways the pics below dont do this first attempt justice. he is well happy with it an so am i cos hes making me one to, it does look a bit ropey on the back edges, but thats because he left some of the file teeth when he finished polishing it i think its stunning an its as sharp as my straight razor and holds an egde as good as any of my more expensive knife shoot safe Niel Edited May 11, 2010 by RiffRaff 1 Quote Link to post

RiffRaff 5
Hiya Neil. What a brilliant job he's made of that!! Look's like nice strong knife, good shape too. Must have taken him a while to fashion that? Excellent ATB. Bill. to be honest bill i know it took him a while from anealing the file to get it soft enough to work and then grind shape and edge bevels to the final polish an then the oak handle he still says its not finished yet,,it deals with rabbits an other stuff :whistling: with ease, i cant wait for him to start mine cos, i have so stunning wallnut for the handle an some nice leather for the sheath but if mine turns out half as good i will be well happy shoot safe Niel Quote Link to post
Sweeney-Todd 208
Hi neil. Looking at that, the wait will be well worth it. The Walnut will look nice. Be sure to put some Pic's when you get your finished knife mate. Your mate could well end up with some orders here, if he's up for it. I'd have one, but not long bought a new one ATB. Bill.
