J Darcy 5,871
the 240 is excellent. Quote Link to post
Eggy 0
the 240 is excellent. Hi JD Correct me if i'm wrong but i thought the 240 really is a 170, just with a bigger dome (240 - 170 interchangable domes domes for a 100W bulb) unlike the 140, which is 50W and would melt with a 100W bulb. So is the wiring any different????? Cheers Eggy Quote Link to post
J Darcy 5,871
ooppsss...yes, i meant the 170....dduurrrr :11: i have used the blitz also, but found no difference.....i first thought that there was but it appears that my trials were conducted with one battery of insufficient power.....so ...i meant 170.... not been lamping for a while so perhaps i am a little rusty Quote Link to post
lucky 578
i prefer to use the 170 because it's a lot better balanced than the 240, but imo the 240 has a lot stronger beam and will light things up at much greater distance Quote Link to post
Nell 1
Clulite for me too ..................... Quote Link to post
Guest Frank
I have a Light force 170, for the price, you would think they would do a better job on the wiring. Has the Clulite got better conections and is it more reliable? As i might get one of them instead. Frank. Quote Link to post
Guest oldskool
yea frank, its a lot, lot better.... the only fault i have with laser/blaser is i would like to narrow the beam down just a tad!! the only advantage of the 170 IMO, is the quality of beam... i changed my santa list to an electric dog training collar instead of the 170 i was gonna get ... Wilky 0
I use a lightforce 170 and I find it very good, I've got a clulight that I keep in the motor as back up and that's OK too, but over the years I've made up lamps from motorbike headlamps, car spotlights, washing machine micro switches, you name it and they've all done the job. Personally I think a lot of people put too much onus on the type of lamp they use and not the skill required to use the lamp properly, it's not all about shining the brightest beam you can find, I've had the pleasure of seeing some first rate lamping lads using what appears to be a dull lamp and getting blinding results, because they know how to use it.
