iguanaman2442 0
I read about this somewhere lately cant remember where though. But the general gist of it was a dog will only cock his leg if he is in charge (leader of the pack) otherwise he wont cock. Not sure if this is 100% correct but i suppose it would make sence. We have a dog thats 11 months now but its obvious that our bitch is boss and he dont cock his leg yet.
klashnekoff 3
My wheaton x dog has never cocked its leg and hes four years old. I think its due to my other dog being a bitch and watching and learning from her as a pup.
RicW 67
About 10 - 15% of dogs never cock their legs; they tend to squat like a bitch. About 10% of bitches cock their legs, but they point the leg forward, while dogs point backward. It may well be linked to pack status. Ric

rickyspringer 15
My dog has just recently started cocking at about 10months old, and I have been thinking the same what causes the behaviour maturity, dominance, pack order. He's turned into a devil recently aswell, not backing down from squabbles aswell as trying it more and more with my bitch, she puts him in his place but he's started to really try to gain leader of the canines in this household, To be honest can't wait til he's out of his little teenager phase.
