I think running dog books are a waist of time tbh better off experiencing your own experience in the field an making your own memory’s and mind up rather than reading bummed up story’s told by story tellers telling of amazing dogs to sell books they all chatted shit in that era an hay day of amazing lurchers they peddled they were all kissing each other’s arses for a name drop in each other’s books to give some kind of authority of that they were all linked to peddling of there certain xs that they specialise in I know there was a lot of bumming an blowing going I don’t believe none of the shit in any of the books tbh the simple reason why is because none would ever write the drawbacks of the crosses or any shit dogs they had that were duffers/jackers or generally not up to the job the only books I’ve read that ring true with true accounts of good dogs an turds is darcys books an that’s from actual his or other hunters accounts
