Got to laugh...pulling up threads from 10 yrs back ...in the hope some mug blows some smoke up his arse? If he was the real deal...then he wouldn't of had a 10 yr break... dogs are a way of life

Why try to re-invent the wheel ? If someone wants a dog that's bigger than a whippet, smaller than a greyhound, has insane speed and would be fine for a couple of runs on hares , get a non-ped !

Let's not forget scargill who was a communist lol

Using the miners as leverage tried taking the piss again  at a time were need for coal was declining

The government thatcher wasn't going to let the country suffer again over and over when she could f**k it all off and keep country going on imported coal plus gas oil was becoming the new source all this lead to the working coal miner taking the brunt of it mate ?

I think most av got that one well the old timers anyway ?Walsh did a good one one whippets aswell but I not seen that , but wouldn’t mind a gander at it

A nice book in my opinion. Sort of a text book on the development of the whippet from a working man's race dog to a modern popular KC breed but written by people who knew what a whippet should be.

Only slight criticism, and I wrote this on another thread, is Colonel Walsh's opinion that a serious ferreter will learn to leave his dog at home. But, I have no doubt that he went to his grave having forgotten more about dogs than I will have learned by the time I go to mine.

Lots of great pictures also.

I recently bought a copy, 8 days ago actually, to replace the one I bought in 2008 at the welsh gamefair, but can't find for love nor money! Lol.

Excellent book.  ?

My gran was a normal person. She was sick, dying too young from illness in hospital. It was the time of ten great strikes to save the common, normal folk from the rich. Reality is my gran lay in a dirty hospital bed, with no one helping her, or changing the sheets etc and no food. Because the hospital porters etc were on strike. My dad and his brother went to the hospital with bed sheet, other stuff, food etc. Head hospital Porter said, you can’t come in here mate, we are on strike and no one is touching nowt. My old man and his brother just dropped the little pr*ck and went about helping their mum and a few others.
