Just to add, I'm probably not best qualified to answer that question, as I've never been a breeder/peddler. Edited May 22, 2021 by shaaark 2 Quote Link to post

Might have your name as the breeder, for example 'hancock lurchers', but it's not a line, just a 'type' or cross. 4 Quote Link to post

The only gain from creating a "line" using only those two breeds would be if your ideal is a dog mid sized between a whippet and greyhound with nothing else added. Would negative the variation in size that you get in 1st and 2nd cross litters. Must admit the 23/24" grews are cracking types. 3 Quote Link to post

A line is only worth its name if it used extensively,...poor performers need to be removed and young stock should only be offered to men that can enter them sensibly, and test them to the full over a few seasons,...otherwise, the actual phrase means nothing... I've bred a few pups, and I could have bred and gifted dozens,.but as a commercial breeder of lurchers once told me, " Phil, you will never make a dog breeder, because you ask too many questions, of a prospective customer"... I rated his remarks as a great compliment.... Edited June 6, 2021 by OldPhil 21 1 1 Quote Link to post

Aye then it’s just a line they use to sell dogs rather than a line of dogs. 2 1 Quote Link to post

I've had three 1st cross whippet/greyhounds of that size, and they were very good, tough, honest, versatile dogs. It's a cross/type I get on well with, nothing too complicated.
