a great days pike fishing

well we set of on saturday to enniskillen to get to the boats that we had hired for the day.

seven of us in total fishing 3 in one boat and 4 in the other.

when we arrived there the weather could not have been any better, the sun was shining and a slight breeze.

so boats loaded up we set of. i wanted to fish a spot that had always proven itself great in the past, it was about an hour and a half up the lake at full steam ahead.

we stopped at a few fishey looking spots along the way and they did produce single fish.

finally we arrived at the destination i wanted to try.

it was a large, pretty shallow bay with a lot of weed at the bottom end but boy did it pay off.

in total out of our boat of four including myself (who caught five) there was 19 pike caught the biggest being 8 n 1/2lb

 

the total from the other boat of three was 15 pike the biggest there being 10 n 1/2lb

most the fish were small jacks but good fun all the same.

all caught on variuos spinners/plugs.

nice one mate.me and a few mates are going down to the Arne for the mayfly at the end of the month.we are taking the boat with us and bivvying out on one of the islands.we will take are pike gear two

thats the way to do it.

we hope to do the same for pike later in the year, cant beat the camping

good on ye poacher.you cant beat ireland/northern ireland for the pike fishing or any other sort of fishing.
