morning in the sunshine

went out yesterday with a mate, 2 skinny dogs and a fat one, 2 of his ferts, and my 2 youngsters. what a cracking morning! started off throwing a long net round 3 sides of an oak tree, and parking 2 skinny dogs in the gap, got 4 in the net and 1 for the dogs. moved on to a huge run of warrens on the side of a hill, as we were setting up the purse nets, a rabbit bolted from an unnetted hole and straight down one i'd just netted. i like that!

we went along the hill and picked up 4 more, dogs flushing a couple from the nettles while we went. fun and games with my new mk3, spent ages searching, only to find the volume was turned right down , and the ferret was wandering about having popped up 50yrds away!

i know 9 isn't exactly in the 100 buns ina night territory, but its my best result ferreting and it was a cracking morning, and for once i didn't do anything stupid!

I'm no expert at this game but i would argue if you'd enjoyed yourself you can definately count the day a succesfull one. Sounds good anyway.

Sounds like a good day out mate. 9 is a good bag too, Id be happy with that. In fact Im happy even if I blank, still been out for a few hours doing what I enjoy and learning all the time!

i forgot to mention, this was on 1800 acres of permission, and my house is right in the middle of it.... thanks for the kind words, i hope there will be a few more days like that before long.
