can anyone help with info on the gun manufactures hooton and jones liverpool?

a friend has two old hammer guns one no name other hooton and jones and wants to know if its worth out?

Hi

Hooton & Jones produced sporting guns and rifles. A good gun and rifle maker but never made it into the big league of gunmakers as a result most of the guns from this maker are ofton plain and of a standard style and finish.

I have worked on a number over the years.

If it is in good condition and in proof I would be keen to make you a good offer.

Hooton & Jones produced sporting guns and rifles. A good gun and rifle maker but never made it into the big league of gunmakers as a result most of the guns from this maker are ofton plain and of a standard style and finish.

If you've not sold it yet, I know a chap in Chesterfield who might be interested. Elliot & Son Gunsmiths; the guy who runs it has had a couple of Hooton & Jones, so he'll likely as not want it, and he'd make you an offer on the Bates too. He restores old English guns, so he'll be able to tell you all about the proof and everything, and you'll get an offer regardless of its condition (unless it's a REAL wreck ) I've got the address if you want it;
