Guest monarchsporting
I am currentlly looking to get new dug.(scottish for dog). Not decided what to get though. Used to breed German pointer about 15 yrs ago , then moved to springers but looking for something for stalking to to track dead deer , although still need something capable of being helpful on a rough shoot day. Tending toward steady lab at present Any comments or personal preferences ? Lee Quote Link to post

lampinglurcher 36
labrador mate. cant argue with that. most larger gundogs will do it, but there are specialist dogs for it, but they need a more experienced handler Quote Link to post
teckel 3
as my name sake i keep teckels and work them for deer they can be head strong but great compions as for what your looking for i would consider a lab but just watch them when rough shooting incase they start to look for deer instead of game if you have been using them a lot for deer Quote Link to post

Jed 0
I know a few stalkers who use springers for tracking&roughshooting best of both worlds good noses & good stamina as long as its trained properly. Quote Link to post
