Yearly Booster Vaccinations ??

Hello All,

 

My Labrador is now 6 years old and has had her vaccines every year, I use advocate and worm her regular.

 

My question is, is it worth having her yearly booster ? the reason I ask someone told me too much can harm her and by now she will have built up her immune system.

 

Any advice welcome.

id keep getting her jabbed mate its not worth loseing your dog for the sake of a few quid atb jenna

I have mine done as pups and then a year after that, i was also told that too much vaccine can harm your dog. I did loose a pup through having vaccine it made him fit, and then he lost his sight, the vet put it down to the vaccinations (dont know). The only ones i keep up to date with vaccines is my breeding stock. I know there were big discussions about this with the vet association a few years ago and they brought out a vaccination that only has to be done every 3 years instead on annualy.

If you want to put your dogs into kennels when you go on holiday the vets have you over a barrel.

But the vets wont change anything as its worth too much money to them

I agree with the above they charge you a fortune for the vaccinations and i can get them to do myself for £5.00 each, how much profit do they need to make on them ?

If it's never going in kennels I'd give them a miss.

 

I now have my dogs done at pup & year 1.

 

I keep wormer, flea treatment , general health well up to date though
