What airgun is best for rabbits

Recommended Posts

They dont get much better than what you have there buddy :notworthy:

There is no such gun as the best one for rabbits as they don't shoot them :tongue2:

Any gun is the best as long as it meets the following criteria:

It must feel right in your arms.

Its a very personal thing. Just about any airrifle will drop a bunny at normal airgun ranges, if the person shooting it is a competent marksman

Oh pellets are as much along the same lines, the best pellet for the gun will be the one that groups the best at normal ranges.

Most people can't fault Air Arms Fields including myself, but I also use FX pellets (they are cheaper and I'm on a tight budget)

id have to go with the boys on this the bang on the money as always.

if you want quiet then look into pcp's

the queen farts louder than the noise my gun makes.(air arms s300 pcp)

an pellets aa and the h+n's, will happerly point you in the directon of people that will stake there lives on these pellets.

but as phantom says theres no gun thats good for bunnies, all the guns iv had seem to make them do back flips twitch and take a long nap.lol

let us know what you end up with.

In my personal opinion mate there arent that many springers on the market apart from maybe 5 or 6 that will be better than a HW95K.

The HW is a brilliant rifle pal and will do the bussiness every time if used correctly and matched with the best pellet for its barrel.

A springer will never be anywhere near as quiet as a pcp but if used correctly will still produce the same results in terms of filling a game bag.

Has as already been said a tune from a renouned gunsmith with improve the smoothness of the action and reduce recoil a bit.

Tony Wall at Sandwell Field Sports is the Master when it comes to HW tuning. I think he has forgotten more than most gunsmiths know mate. Well worth a try.

I shoot both PCP and springers and find that getting a nice kill with a springer is alot more rewarding than with my pcps.

If you want a good pcp though that is accurate more than you will ever be able to shoot it then i would reccommend a BSA Ultra and fit a Hogan silencer on it.

Best of luck
