Just bought a sauer 202 in 6.5x55, waiting on my fac coming back. Anybody else use this caliber or model of rifle?

Sauer 202 .25-06 had it treaded for mod, shot all six species of wild deer in the uk + Wild boar imho fantastic rifle

I will get this One threaded as well, nice weight a balance without a mod though. It is 2nd hand but the wood is very nice and rifle is like new.

try 125 grain partitions for best results

As a Rough guide what bullet weights work with what twist rate in this caliber

mine shoots all very well 95-156gr.

standard factory barrel twist 1 in 8"

I too have a Sako 75 in 6.5x55 and it will shoot 120gn Nosler BT's, Hornady 129gn SST's, federal 140's and Oryx 156gn at less than 1" at 100yds. The Hornady SST's at a lot less than 1"! My rifle did not like RWS 140gn HP's and would only do just over 1" at best.

 

I have used nothing smaller than 120gn in mine. It is standard 1 in 8".

i shoot 139gr privvy partizan, superb 200yard. No escape this.

mine also shots the above well.

though zeroed at 100m's they drop 5-6 inch at 200m's.

I limit these to woodland ranges and when in the open use my handloads 125gr partitions @ quick.

6.5x55 legal in Germany and stop's Boar ok. UK they seem to say .270 min!!!!!!! As for bullet's i would use Nossler Partion, Lapua Mega or Grand Slam
