Rabbithunter 456
Set off this morning with DEL, from the site and his nephew. We had four jills between us & 150 yards of longnet. I parked up at the lonning and set the nets around a set i have wanted to do for a few years, but havent had the manpower. this net has been weaved through box wire fencing, try that with your quickset nets DELS nephew dealing with a bunny This warren produced 9 netted bunny's there was 2 or 3 escapees. I believe we didnt have enough ferrets to get the bunnys shifting quick enough. It was about mid-day when we finished ferreting this part This is of the second warren we ferreted after some dinner. The green net that you can see is my hand made spun nylon net. This produced six netted rabbits, 2 or 3 escapees and a 4 foot dig, at about 3 1/4 foot the ferret decided to come out on her own accord. typical eh. Ended the day at about 3:30PM with 18 clean healthy bunnys It was a pleasure to be out with DEL and his nephew, they keep good company. His nephew although only about 7 years old shows a real interest in the sport, it was a great day, not a big bag by any means but it was great being out with like-minded people Edited November 5, 2006 by Rabbithunter Quote Link to post

Rabbithunter 456
there was a boyo that came over when we weree on the second warren. He could only see DEL as me and his nephew were on the other side, he shouted "GET OFF THE FARM" so i popped round to see what was going on. He was as nice as pie once he seen he was out numbered :11: the "GET OFF THE FARM" changed to "are you local?" I informed him that i had permission, he kept banging on about something stupid, i was just ignoring him. Anyway when a bunny bolted and i rushed off to get it, he soon realised he was neither wanted nor needed, so he went. There is a big warren that we shall be tackling. If DEL, Lindsay, and the young un accept the invite then from what i can see it wil be a full day on the one warren, 400-500 yards of long net and as many ferrets as we have will do the trick. Me and del seen this bit on the lamp one night and there's plenty of bunnies to be had. Quote Link to post

Cracking do out by the way.. . Millet they do that sometimes millet specially if they have know wear to run like in a open field, i think if you nedded half of it and longnetted as well you would have a good do Quote Link to post

Guest buster
NICE ONE MATE :thumbs-up: Quote Link to post
Rabbithunter 456
millet, there was a lot of hole hopping before any bolting, you just have to be patient and let the ferrets do the work. The rabbits some realise the ferrets after them, and they need to get out. Hence, why i said we needed more ferrets, would have had them bolting a lot quicker and we may just have been able to ferret another set similar to them ones which holds a few rabbits. Ferreting to longnets is a fine way of catching rabbits Quote Link to post
