nicklpool 0
My BedWhip x Pointer hound is now nearly 8 months and with the help of advice I've had on here is shaping up nicely. One weird thing though - when he goes into a field he spends ages sniffing round - even if there's acres of bunny all around. He seems to miss quite a few chances this way. Don't get me wrong: I'm not deliberately hunting in the close season, but when he goes for them, it's often by stumbling across them in long grass. He got a young one that way last week, so I'm not worried about jacking. I'm no expert (as you may have guessed) but he doesn't seem very 'sight-hound' to me. Can I adapt to this, so he's ready for serious mooching when the corn comes down? Thanks, Nick Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
Not so much a problem for daytime hunting he just needs a while to get to grips with whats going on. A bit of a headache if your lamping however. Jai. Quote Link to post
kev2010 8
If your daytime hunting in cover he'll need a good nose.I personally think he's still a bit young yet.Take your time, dont rush him. He'll work it out.If he is all nose itll be hard work lamping with him. atb Kev. PS.dont do yourself down.Nobody knows everything. You never stop learning. Edited May 6, 2010 by kev2010 Quote Link to post
