dave a 24 Posted May 7, 2010 Report Share Posted May 7, 2010 hey guys ive got a 3 year old 3/4 grey 1/4 collie bitch, she is a very fast bitch and very obedient and a great jumper but the problem is she wont pick up [bANNED TEXT] shes running a rabbbit, she spots and chases them no problem and is very keen but as soon as she gets to the rabbit she just runs beside it? if she was able to pick up id go as far as sayin she would be the best lurcher ive ownned, has [NO TEXT TALK] else had this problem or has [NO TEXT TALK] any advise????? cheers folks no offence but i would put her down.she's 3 years old and no good. dog fox 16 Posted May 7, 2010 Report Share Posted May 7, 2010 i,d feed her all the rabbits you catch for a bit and leave there jackets on ,that way she might look at it as she,s chasing food and not just chasing a rabbit ,ive had a couple of russels over the years that once they were broke to ferrets they wouldnt pick fur up but feathers they would smash them .have a think mate it could be something youve done along the way .but i think feeding her raw rabbit for a month or so would make her start to think after she,s missed her dinner ,but leave everything in and jackets on .its a shame realy sounds like she could have been a good dog but sooner or later your gonna have to realise she hasnt made the grade .its up to you its your dog best of luck with her Quote Link to post
