Have you tried running her with a more experianced dog so that she sees it pick up and gets the idea, i have come across this problem before and it was rapidly sorted once the dog saw another dog do the pick up - it just seemed to click. You could also try ferreting some rabbits into purse nets and send her to hold/pick them up. However its the wrong time of year for ferreting.

i have ran her with other dogs and she is always first on the rabbit, and [bANNED TEXT] the other dog picks up she will take it from the other dog, she has never picked up a rabbit herself, she has had no injuries, i have seen her course big rabbits to the point where i could catch it myself, its so frustrating

Better than Striker.icon_eek.gif She must have something about her if that's the case mate.

Is she trying to pick the rabbits, as in is she striking at them and missing or is she just running alongside them making no attemp to pick them?

its one of strikers pups mate, she makes no attempt to strike at all, she does everything right but just doesnt pick up, if u throw a dummy she will retrieve it lol

If she is retrieving then all is not lost, normally a seasoned dog would give her the idea if this fails one other way is to use a lure. Some of her favorite treats as a reward when she strikes at the lure.

It could take you some time to get her to do it, so patience is the key.

( other dogs) thats why, :wallbash: get it on its own 1st. then when it can do the job proper, maybe other dogs then.

Have you tried her retrieving dead rabbits? Starting with a skin covered dummy and then maybe lamping with an air rifle. Get her used to picking up still warm, rabbits and she may get used to the idea, then try her on a few squatters and work from there . . . .
