great shooting phantom but did the 2 rabbits have their heads lined up as (and sorry for being such a buzzkill) a bodyshot could have resulted in a wound  . it was an excellent shot and i really must aplaud you but i can't help thinking "that second rabbit could have ran off wounded"

Thanks guy's

Aaron, I thought about that, but the number of shots that have just gone through the Craniums of young kits and the fact that these two bunnies were sat virtually touching each other gave me the confidance to take the shot.

I was actually expecting the shot to go through both lungs and heart. As I mentioned though, the 2nd one moved a fraction which caused the pellet to go through one lung and the heart.

The rest of the energy eas expended inside the wall of the chest and I knew that the second kit would certainly not have made past a few feet.

You can get a good feel of what you can actually achieve when you study the destruction caused by a high velocity projectile in ballistic wounds. The wounds themselves can be very educational, this is why I believe that we should all study our results.

Davy, I'm not so sure about that, things just came together enough for me to realise I stood a very high chance of pulling it off.

I had a chance in the graveyard today, for another memorable shot, but I wasn't 100% confidant that I could pull it off so the bunny lived for another day.

I'm now thinking, COULD I :hmm: but I'll never know now will I?

my god Phantom, why do you have to right an essay every time, just to kill the odd rabbit....

Because (Brief synopsis just for you :tongue2: )

It gives me something to do and keeps my brain functioning.

Especially when I cant sleep. I posted the OP at 03:50 ish. If you don't wish to read them, you really don't need to  no one will force you I promiss and if anyone tries to do so, you let me know and I'll put em straight for yah :boxing:

I put in as much detail as I can; because thats how I learned my hunting skils, reading other 'Essays'.

Even the small details can click with some people and they learn something new

Some people like to read my Essays as it gives them a feeling of 'being there' or looking through my eyes.

Most people appreciate reading my essays as well as finding most of them informative; and as long as they do, I'll continue to do them.

Oh and RFYL there really is no need to call me GOD; but I do respect your right to do so  and you may carry on if you desire

Why thanking you kindly my good chap  but it is you calling me god not I

However there are a number of people who regularly call me by that, so I just go along with it

The wife does it the most when she's hell bent on winning an argument usually at the end when she says "Oh God, theres not talking to you is there" or "God why don't you keep the place clean" or "God why don't you p!ss of out and go shooting"
