Kye 77
Yeah, i just asked the wife about it...she said it involves a shot, then blood testing, then a few more shots or summat...said the total is about $120 (Sixty quid!!!) maybe it more exspensive coz they have to get the rabies vac from another country?...i have thought about getting a few of my staghounds a pet-pass-port...i might be getting a once in a lifetime chance to hunt them in Africa in the future! Tommy 9
A bloke who lives on the same road as me is moving to France and is taking his dog with him. His dog was jabbed up around five months ago and it cost him £180 as you say there is a blood test included as well. After the jab and bloodtest has been done you need to wait six months before the dog can be transported to a fro from different countries. The dog can be taken to a country before the six months is up but cannot return until its six months has been fully served. So basically six months after been jabbed the dog can be transported between countries as much as you want. Does the dog need to be boosted every year, and how much does this cost ?? All the best Tommy Quote Link to post
shaun v 3
the vets have a monoply going fixing prices . having people pay for consultation even if they are paying big money for an operation [£15 around here]. then they charge £40 for inoculations where the cost to buy them is a fraction of that, or charging £1. for one antibiotic tablet. these are local charges up here but my pal from the smokey pays alot more than that. these twatts are taking the piss with these rip off charges, thats why i bring stuff in the country and now i realise how much they are making on things. :realmad: Quote Link to post

Guest trev
I have a passport sitting here in front of me and it cost all in about 120E if i remember correctly, the rabies shot and blood test cost 60E which is about £40 sterling. My vet administered the rabbies jab but sent the blood test off to England. I have a copy of the test results with an address on i will post it and you can give them a call see how you get on. Unit 11 Station Road Southwater Horsham West Sussex RH13 9TZ 01403 730176 Your dog will need to be microchiped and meet the iso(international standards organisation) standard 11784 or Annex A to iso standard 11785. If its not you will need to provide your own microchip reader when traveling abroad. Its a long winded process if the vet dosent know what he is doing, the dog needs to be chipped before he can be blood tested and blood tests results have to travel with you. Make sure everything on the passport is in order as they will not let you travel if anything is wrong. Hope this helps. They need a booster every twelve months otherwise you will need to wait the six months again before you can travel. Quote Link to post
Lennard 10
sent the blood test off to England.. Trev, were you getting a dog in or out of the UK? L Quote Link to post
Guest trev
Im in Ireland Lennard and i was getting a dog out of ireland but my vet uses that lad, maybe because its so cheap or maybe they dont have the correct facilitys here but thats were he sent it to and it was cheap so i never bothered asking why lol lol. My vet practices in the North of ireland and two days a week in the south, i use him in the south but the passport was done through his northern surgery so i guess thats why it was sent to england.
