The actor Brian Glover who played the gym teacher in Kes was also a profesional wrestler who fought under the name of Leon Arras, here he is in a bout against Les Kellet (funny as feck!!) on the old wrestling from the 70's 0n ITV's ancient world of sport programme

Nice film that, just a shame about the acting.....

Anyone know if the young lad Casper went on to do any other films ?

nothing wrong with the acting mate, they were just lads of estates round the local area with no experience, think they did a good job, there was only a couple of real actors in the whole film.

Yep fair comment.....but after all said and done it was a film !.....nice story, nice scenery, nice subject....but like i say as a film the acting let it down.

The only bona-fide actor in the whole film was Colin Welland who appeared in the tv cop series Z cars, the rest of the cast were amatures, some of whom caught the bug and became actors/ over all I think the cast did a good job, considering
