stroller 341
Thanks vanquo he is my sons dog and does everything asked of him in a saluki sort of way. he is a lovely natured dog but he isnt my type as i do a lot of ferreting and in my opinion he needs ten acres to get started. the little pocket rocket is my lurcher she tortures the saluki over any distance and she has brains Quote Link to post

wirral countryman 2,110
I have 3,two lurcher's and a terrier,I've kept 3 my whole life,it used to be 2 terrier's and 1 lurcher but with all the attention terrier's bring with them and the places I work them I've found its easier, and less hassle off joe public to keep more lurcher's,my only word of caution is if you don't have the work or land to give what you've got then don't get more,I've seen loads of people that get dogs for every occassion and end up without 1 good one ,my mrs has threatened to divorce me every time I brought another dog in,but as I told her,I had 3 when you met me so whats the problem,25yrs later she's still there more's the pity,LOL,good job she don't read this, weigh it all up and if you think you can work it on a regular basis, then get one, atb, wirralman Quote Link to post

cúagusgiorraí 57
i have 11 and there all fooking useless 11 I suppose that aint to bad though. I know a fella who had 50 and another who has about 40, and kid who is not even in his 20's with about 25. The dogs aren't given the opportunity to work properly, just bred from and passed on.... like most lurchers in Ireland. Quote Link to post
longbow 14
I have two lurchers at the minute. Up untill last week I had a terrier aswell but sadly the poor little chap died on Friday. As much as I miss him, I have to say that managment of the pack is that much easier now that I am down to two dogs. So its two only for the time being. If you are taking on a smallholding you will have more room, you will also have a heck of a lot more work! you wont have time for dogs! But if you want another dog get one and worry about that later. Cheers Quote Link to post
