Wink 1
Assuming you have the time to check them, set some wires as it sound like your fox has a routine which would make it pretty easy to get hold of, plus they will work all night long as opposed to sitting it out. Good luck Wink Quote Link to post
SUNDAYBAIN 19
You wont get an adult underground this time of year. You will have very limited success with a midden this time of year. You will have very limited success with a lamp if its shy. Probably wont go for a cage unless its urban-ish. Either early morning and last thing at night stints or snaring known pads/runs are the most likely way of getting him/her. All the best. FTB Whats urban-ish.been catching them for years in countryside.still do Quote Link to post

In my experience, you wont get a true country fox going into a cage unless its a daft cub. Town foxes on the other hand, are a different kettle of fish. FTB Quote Link to post

1986HUNTER 0
Anybody get any thoughts on how to take out a particularly lamp-shy fox without me having to invest in night vision? He is a persistent raider of a local poultry man near me and attempts to lamp him have scared him off for each night I have tried although he does return the next night. find out what root he normally takes and sit back in a hedge or hide and try to call late evening see what happens. reidp 0
Been out 3 times this week and the following happened after leaving a bait of dog food: 1st night...2 foxes turned up and missed them both...forgot to check zero and in the dark I didn't adjust enough to hit the target (was going for a head shot as only 25m away) 2nd night...waited 2 and a half hours and nothing...but no birds taken either! 3rd night...nothing until 3 hours into watch (11.45pm) and by that time the lamp was fading. Fox came from nowhere and ran right in front of me at a distance of about 10m! Disappeared and then I had to leave!! AAAggggghhhhhh....this is turning into a feud! Quote Link to post
