Suitable Scope

Hi.

 

Am new to Rifle shooting, have had shotguns for 15+ years.

Have just had a visit from FAO & he has confirmed that I will have certificate within 3 weeks.

My RFD is already holding .22LR & .17HMR (both CZ) & am planning to get a .223 soon.

 

Can all you experienced rifle shooters advise me on which is best size scope for:

 

1) the .17HMR

2) the .223

First off what kind of budget have you got for each scope?

 

Id go for a adjustable magnification, personally

I have a Optik 3-9x40 on the .22LR.

Also a mate has a Centre-Point 6-24x50 (with illuminated reticule), which he will let me have cheap, but not sure which rifle this would be suitable for?

 

Budget - about £150 - £200.
