all.rounder 3
Some "lurcher men" just don't have a clue. They don't think about the future. When it comes to winter I wonder whose ground they will be poaching as theres wont have a rabbit on it. ATB Mike i wouldn't call them lurcher men.wankers come to mind :wankerzo4: Quote Link to post

FightTheBan 1,147
It's got worse since the ban. Anyone noticed this? Jai. Yes. Making it illegal has glorified it for the scrotes who would normally be out doing hard drugs, mugging OAP's and slashing each other. That is the worst part of the hunting ban IMO. If the farmer wants you to thin them out during the summer because crops are being eaten away then theres not allot you can do about that, its a job that has tobe done. But thats a different thing alltogether. stroller 341
This is all young lads from early teens to early 30s, round here they never ever stop the rabbits around me are so lamp shy they wear sunglasses in their burrows.!! My lad and his mates are the same ive been telling him since he was a nipper to leave stuff alone but they are all clowns who know better. there are rabbits around us but they are so continually hunted we never see them during daylight hours, its a bit sad really Quote Link to post

Ideation 8,216
Not all young lads are like it. I didn't actually realise people DID hunt in summer until i was quite old. To me that was just the way it was - rabbiting/foxing etc in winter and fishing in summer. I wonder if these lads actually like nature and respect animals. I actually REALLY like rabbits and especially like the first couple of months of the season when we visit permissions for the first few trips and are having super hectic days of 50-100 with the ferrets and then same in evening with dogs. The sadest fact now is that most of the folk who keep running dogs ARE dickheads. Matcho, small minded thugs who dont have any bond or understanding of nature. They keep dogs but are not dog men, and certainly not hunters. They have the fieldcraft and knowledge of a house brick. Jai. Quote Link to post

Most people like to claim pest control cos it makes them feel that it makes them a more 'serious' rabbit catcher. Also i DO have some patches i have to clear and also some of the estates only let me on when the shooting season has finished, but in this case the ferrets are usually not the best method, or the dogs, but trapping and snaring and shooting is the way to go. Annnnnnnd to be honest if we just really hammer the rabs properly right at the end of the season there is such a small breeding nucleus left that the rabs are no problem till quite late in summer - by which time its close enough to season to wait. If you work efficiently and properly then you really can clear 90% or more rabbits from the land during the proper season. If you cant - you need to up your game and look at where you can improve. jmho Jai. Quote Link to post
