watson 1
i have a weirauch hw80k and have had it a while, and it is quite loud. it has a silencer but this i think has been added by the previous owner. it sounds vibrating when you shoot it. my mate has a weirauch with a silencer about the same age as my hw80k and its so much quieter. does anyone know what i could do? or what the problem might be? JackReid 35
So did it not come with the silencer its got? I understand all the HWrange if they are carbine usually came with a Weihrauch silencer thats really good. Maybe thats a newer thing? If its got a new spring in it, maybe someone did a shit job or its a bad spring.. Does it shoot ok? Maybe do what Venom said and shell out a little bit on new spring or service, make sure everythings sat tight on the stock and see if the silencer is rattling? It should be a fairly quiet gun, especially with time as you fire it and it smoothens up. Let us know how you get on. ATB Jack Quote Link to post

andyfr1968 772
There's your problem, mate. OX spring's are sh1t. Have your checked 'cos there's every chance it'll be shooting over the limit with an OX. Cheers. Quote Link to post
wayney 1
Hi mate launch the ox sping before it destroys your gun and get a titan xs main sping im my opinion they are excellent and if you can mate get yourself a metal well made spring guide this will make a big diffrence also as far as silencers go try and get a micheal tawn panther(slip on with grub scre) they work excellent on the this is if yours isn't one of the newer ones with the weirauch silencer on which is also excellent. atb wayne Edited May 20, 2010 by wayney Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Hi mate, OX springs ruin rifles mate and throw the harmonics completely out. In the olden days people used to put OX square section springs in just about every thing thinking more power = better everything You will probably find that your rifle is probably over the legal limit considerably at around 13 to 15 FP and that the accuracy is degraded due to the hard affects of the spring slamming forwards. I would take it to a good gunsmiths and get it taken out and either a proper HW spring put back in it or like Wayney says another top class main spring. A new spring and a good service will make the rifle spot on again mate. Si Edited May 20, 2010 by zini Quote Link to post
