wexford Pa 84
I think they usually take a bit longer than most working terrier breeds to come on but ive been told when u have a good one u cant beat it.. Ive only worked 1 myself a few yrs ago n he was ok, he worked fox well.. but i know lads that have worked them hard n they say its a blessing to have a good russell.. ..... Pa Quote Link to post

EDean 0
Thanks for all the replys everyone! There are some nice looking russells working! So what I'm seeing is that a JRT can make a good working dog but they are fewer and far between than some of your other terrier breeds b/c like many working breeds, they've been bred more for pets than for their original purpose. oliver10 0
god all you lot are well harsh to each other!! i just enjoy my 2 terriers what ever stock they come from, they would work if i wanted them too as they were bred by a very good terrier man, but im not into digging foxes, they come out with me on my horse and get any spare rats around the place. did i miss somethin here? What u goin on about? Are u on the same topic as us? well just thought being called an idiot or bigot for your opinion (page 1) was a bit harsh!!! Quote Link to post

Guest AngelicAcid
Would you say that russels or blacks have a higher percentage of workers compared to the amount been bred for each colur? Quote Link to post

Attack Fell Terrier 864
Would you say that russels or blacks have a higher percentage of workers compared to the amount been bred for each colur? There's more Blacks about making the grade than there is Russells, but there's still decent reliable lines of Russell's about. Quote Link to post
