what scope for 223

This topic has proberly been up before but just wanting to know what scope is best for 223 on a £200 -£250 budget. Second question is can any one comment on the performance of the howa rifles?cheers

For such a small budget I would rather go for an old scope with good glass than a new type which will more than likely have mediocre glass at best.

 

I have an old pecar scope on my .223, its probably older than me but clarity is superb and a real nice scope. They could probably be had for 300 ish if you look hard enough.

 

I was always told to spend as much as you can on the scope, then buy your rifle - and its served me well so far.

Get a Burris Fullfield with ballistic plex off ebay from the states, cracking scopes and a great reticle. As for the Howas, well made, very accurate, heavy though. Love mine!!

bushnell banner, nikon prostaff or even an optimate 8x56mm. They would comfortably suit your budget with some change to spend on ammo.
