You dont have to "apply" for one mate, but you do have to abide by them.

As long as you are legally entitled to shoot on the land you are on and meet the requirenments of the General Licences then you can shoot the species on the licences.

does anyone know wher i can go hunting in birmingha/solihull or warwickshire... bored of paper targets now

The answer to your previous post is no, there is nowhere that you can just wander off and shoot without permission.

As for places to shoot live quarry, the usual way is to go round all the farms, golf courses and other places that look likely, and ask them if they would like any help controlling pest populations. Expect to get knocked back, lots, before you succeed. You can help yourself by making sure you are insured, membership of a group like BASC provides that. Also when you go to ask, dress smartly and be polite and courteous. Even people who are a no might know of other people who need help.

Good luck with the search for permissions, persist and things will start to come along!

Hi guys,

I wonder if anyone knows what the "conservation of wild birds" bit means in the general license for Scotland called "LICENCE TO KILL OR TAKE CERTAIN BIRDS FOR THE

CONSERVATION OF WILD BIRDS". It is not explained anywhere in the license and it just looks as if you could go and shoot all the species mentioned there and say you're doing it for the purpose of conservation of wild birds, but I don't think it works this way. So anyone could clarify this license?

thanks and atb,

.Tomek
