hornet 0
Inexperianced owners who have no knowledge of hunting can spoil any dog. I have seen good dogs with potential ruined because the owners are upset that a dog they have has not caught a rabbit, on its first few outings. Good breeding from proven parents only gives you the confidence to know they probably are going to be good dogs, but every litter is different. You have to put a lot of work into bringing on a dog that will do what you want it to, and most failures are down to the owner rather than the dog. Quote Link to post
Guest fence_hopper
i'm one of the very few from my area (holyhead ) if not the only one who works my dogs, they think they know it all coz they have the odd night bunny bashing pmsl. breeding shite all the time. fouking drives me crazy, ahwell least i am enjoying the working dogs rather than the quick bucks to be made, some c**ts are just gready How does that in any way answer the question? Also you are the only one 'you know of'. Not all dog men are obsessed with comparisons or showing other how much or how hard they work their dogs. no offence. Jai. lol no prob jai just a little rant i felt like having Edited May 3, 2010 by fence_hopper Quote Link to post

heart of wales 19
In my opinion You need to start right 1 Ensure both parents are not just workers but good workers 2 Rear and feed the pup properly 3 Train the pup properly 4 Most important spend time time time in the field with it Do all this and You will increase Your chances of having a tidy working dog,Not guaranteed but if You failed and looked back,You have probably missed out on one of the four points,ie didnt see one or even Two of the parents working, listen to a load of sales patter. Top Lamper 2k10 169
i allways say its not the breed of your dog its the time and work you put into your dog you could go out hunting with your mates and they could hav a mongrol dog that does better than your dog all it is that your dog needs loads of experience to become a good dog not the breeding thats wat i think anyway atb Top Lamper Quote Link to post
