Urban Fox Control London 8
I have a BSA Lightning XL Tactical Spring / Break Barrel to which I use with little effort on Feral Pigeon's and the odd rat. Although I have always been impressed with this rifle and it's predecessor, there is a small amount of movement with the silencer and I can't help noticing that it may not be as quiet as the previous standard BSA Lightning I had before. Does anyone know if the moderator can be replaced on these units? Their is no 'screw' fitting, I think it is held in place with a simple grub screw. Quote Link to post

andyfr1968 772
Hi,mate. They've been made in Spain now for a few years and the quality's not a patch on the older UK built ones. The mod on my Lightning used to come lose on a regular basis no matter what thread lock or glue I tried. The problem stopped after I fitted a gas-ram to it as it cut the vibes and twangs right down. It is just held on with a micky mouse grub screw that seems to be made of cheese. Take it out and replace with a steel one... You can use other mods but you'll need to buy an adapter for the better UNF threaded ones, or just fit a slip on one instead. I've a couple of Webley ones on springers and they're pretty good. Cheers. Edited May 2, 2010 by andyfr1968 Quote Link to post
