Four sundays ago id been out to see a friend. On the way back in the afternoon i stopped off at the park & had a walk round with the dog.At the end of the park is some waste ground so i took him on for a mooch round. After being on there for about 5mins he kept stoping & looking back.I had look but couldnt see anything so we carried on.He still keeps looking back.So i look back again & i can see someone in bushes behind us.I decided to leave. As were about to go the B******d tried to jump me with a piece of 3x2.Now the dog has never shown agression to another dog let alone people, but lets just say im glad i was not the attention of his gob full of teeth.Anyway im very proud of him & alls well that ends well. :D

My dog saved me from some pissed off cows one night. Whilst lamping tha cows got spooked and charged me and my mate. we had our backs to a barb wire fence and they butted me and my mate..with this my dog came steaming in guns a blazing, making the cows back off just enough to scramble the fence! to say i crapped my self would be an under statement....A week later headlines of local paper reported an old chap tramppled to death by cows walking his dog..not too many miles from where we was..

They can be bloody horible animals. Some are ok & dont bother, others!!Best given a wide birth if you dont know what there like.Once one runs they all run & they can shift.I know an old guy,had cows all his life.Hes 80 now & rents the land to someone else.Like he always did with his own hed go check on the cows.He got trampled 2 years ago.broke his arm & collar bone. You were real lucky.Good job youd got your best friend ther to watch your back.

Common knowledge mate that a dog will attract the attention of cattle - chance are if you didnt have the dog you wouldnt have had any bother at all.

Unless you are 100% competent with livestock I wouldnt go in a field with them - especially not with a dog.

No mate.I wish it wasnt true.Caught me totally of gaurd.Ive met allsorts of people in the dead of night while out with dogs but never had anything like this happen before.T shit myself.Like i said i dont know if he was after money or the dog.Im only glad i had the big dog with me.I think the lesson ive learned is to take more notice of my dog when hes trying to tell me something.

my daughter was on a sled going down a hill when a dog ran after her i dont think it intended to do anything just ran along beside her, my american bulldog daisy bowled it and stood over it just threatening and growling. when the little un got to the bottom of the hill daisy left the dog and ran over to the daughter just being her usual daft self.

The other dog was a female american bulldog and they had been playing with each other minutes before hand,

Bless her daisy died last year she was pig ugly and boss eyed but amongst my dogs she was the gaffer and i miss her every day.

I think eventhough we have domesticated dogs they have never lost what we would call a sixth sense. They are totally in tune with nature.Something that we lost thousands of years ago & only get a fleetig glimpse of now & again. It amazes me that they retain this ability & yet have a complete understading of us.How many other animals could you point to something with your hand or a light & they will go to it.Or give a hand gesture or sound & they now what you mean. Not many.Icant think of any that can do all this & more. Its something we just take for granted. They understand far more than we know.Ive found that if im having a bad night with the dogs, not to blame them but to look at myself.Cause if my heads not in tune with theirs they know.Doesnt matter how much you try to hide it,they know.Best to packup & go home or enjoy a walk together.

a mate was trailing a pig and found it in a mud hole when approached it just lay still and he was sure it was dead, he layed the dog about 20 feet away and went to try and pull it out...... the pig was not dead and took him on big time.

the dog jumped on the pigs face and and held him back giving the lad time to "draw" the .357 he pulled the dog off(still on the 10m lead) and fired, the pig dropped and got straight back up "smacking his chops" so he fired again.................

i asked how many did you fire,he answeared "untill it stopped coming at me"(he had fired five rounds at around six feet, three had hit the shoulder and were stuck, two had hit the skull, one had penetrated).

had it not been for the terrier he would have had well over 100kg of very angry pork chewing his ass.

as a guide as to size, the pig hung from the rafters of his shed with the snout at around 8/9ft had its back feet nearly on the floor! the tusks measured in at 20cm(one third of that protrudes from the gob).

the terrier was called "falk" and was the best trailing dog i have known to date(and no mean earth dog either!)

a belter. he is in the eternal hunting grounds and will be giving tongue if i know him!!
