What sound moderator for Sako Finnfire .22lr?

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks,

I own a lovely little Sako Finnfire Hunter in .22lr calibre, I have had a Parker Hale silencer on it for a few years now, I want to buy a new moderator, something a little more compact that will reduce the sound report from the muzzle better than the Parker Hale. Any advise would be appreciated on what type I should purchase.

Cheers

The Parker Hale is a bit of a classic and well known. It's ok but it certainly isn't the best at sound reduction. SAK will better it and be a bit shorter, probably similar money as well. Personally I would suggest you forget any thoughts of spending £100-£150 on a mod, it simply isn't worth it!

I don't think anyone is having a go at the Parker Hale, it is a mod that many have grown up with and set a standard...."an old friend".

The SAK seems to have moved in, and no doubt something else will follow, but there is still only so much you can do!

The only thing for certain is that some of the £100++++++++ mods are a waste of money if sound reduction is your objective!!
