puppy prices

Recommended Posts

just for the record it was talking about pups off digging dogs, i didnt feel the need to state that in my original post as i posted this thread in the EARTHDOGS & WORKING TERRIERS section. i have sold the odd pup from time to time but the last two litters i bred i gave 12 pups free of charge to working terrier lads.i did sell an 8 month old pup recently but let it go for £100.i dont see a problem with selling the odd pup for ordinary working mans prices. £100/150 is loads to pay for a pup IMO

i would pay for a pup if it was what i wanted , you cannot put a value on a good digging dog , its up to the sellers own morals on how much he charges . if i bought a pup it would be the last contact the seller had with it , if i was to loan, rehome or pts they would not be informed or considered .nor would i be on the phone discussing the youngsters progress, they would have no stud or future pups if it was up to the job . fortunatly i,m very happy with my kennels at the mo , and both my dogs were given me by digging lads . when and if the favour can be returned it will

...some sound like they want that on the cheap...but each to their own

Not the case here, experience has shown me these lads that want daft money for pups(digging dogs that is) pound for pound are not to be trusted . a poxy grand pales compared to the return favours, the nod on pups from good working homes.

im only talking about earth dogs, not the vast majority of bulls on here being bred and sold of the backs of old peds of dogs that did do a bit back in the day, pups that,ll never see a a roll in there lifes being sold to fashion followers and enthusiasts.

i resent being seen as wanting something for nothing,..

Fair enough mate like i said "each to their own"...if £100 is "loads" to pay for a dog which you expect to give its all for you well maybe yours dont mean as much to you as mine to me...but as i dont own digging dogs i'll comment no further ;) ....but i wonder how much the PC's you and other digging lads post on cost you...more than £100 i'd guess :hmm:

Seeing as I was talking about a WORKING TERRIER I'm not sure what your point is.

I'm also not sure what the relevance of the breed is in regard to what I posted...no actually I am sure, there is no relevance.

What the **** does it matter anyway? Too many argumentative ***** around here.

spot on dev you might not get a favour returned on everyone but its got to be the best way of investing rather than paying through the nose for everything.

ive paid for pups and will do again.

With Plummers you get history to, making the breeding of working stock more predictable. Have further litters due but all spoken for . No pics but a friend came today and took loads ..so some in the pipe line.

Am very interestd - have been on the EPT forum - massive friendliness and great advice - I am a starter with terriers but have been very much enthuased and will be going forward with purchasing one with a pedigree background and temperment known.

I have found there is alot of divisive chat aroun these dogs but so far (and I have been doing my backgroud work) I am set on a pup first and then onwards

please do update with photos
