the first set of jabs is an "introduction" to the immune system the second a "booster"(they are slightly different jabs in the make up.

only after the second jab is the dog to be considered"inoculated".

the cost at the vets is unreal(i paid nigh on £50 for the course and a FREE microchip for my terrier and lurcher both, the yearly booster jabs i will do myself in future).

The only problem doing your own boosters is if you intend/need to board your dog in kennels for holidays etc as you don't have a proper innoc card. Then again I've never felt the need for boosters after their first jabs & have never had any trouble. On the rare occasion I do go on holiday I just fill the jeep up with fuel, fill the fridge with lager & tell my mate HE's on holiday for two weeks! :D
