One of my all time fave's. Cock linnets are superb!

I had a little trip some time ago to go see the best Linnet nesting area i had ever seen. About ten acres or so of gorse and home to many nests. Tragically it is now a fukcing airport carpark!!! :thumbdown:

So Leeds and Bradford Airport, many thanks for yet another acological disaster! Set of muppets! :thumbdown:

 

On another note, when i had kept linnets in captivity the cocks would never colour up properly unless they were colour fed. So there must be something in the wild Linnets diet that we cannot supply to our captive birds. I'd love to know what.........Great pic Byron. :victory::notworthy: JD

Jon out of interest in your captive birds were the colours just duller than byrons example .. or totally different colours

WELL DONE PAL, GOOD PIC, THINK IM GOING TO HAVE TO INVEST IN A GOOD CAMERA AS I WOULD PROBABLY BE ABLE TO TAKE A GOOD PICS OR TWO OF ALL KINDS OF DIFFERENT BIRDS WHILST AT WORK, I SEE ALL KINDS AS I WORK ON A FARM, WELL DONE, SOME CRACKING PICS GET PUT UP ON THIS THREAD, THANKS FOR SHARING FOLK,

strange these linnets,,was telling my mate just the night before, about one that came and sat on fence two/three years previous [there,s a pic in the album somewere] sod me the next mornibng this one turns up..in nearly the same place..
